Wüsthof Gourmet 14-Piece Deluxe Knife Block Set
Price: $204.99
A Wusthof knife set also lands in the second position, another quality offering. At this lower price point you get fourteen pieces instead of the eight pieces that come with the higher priced number one ranked knife set, and as you can imagine the quality suffers a little bit with the lower price. These are solid high quality knifes, but just do not have quite the same balance and sharpness that our number one rated set from the classic line has. But if you need to save a little money you can go with the solid entry from Wusthof’s gourmet line.

Zwilling JA Henckels Four Star 9-Piece Knife Set with Block

Henckels is a well known for producing a high quality knife set, and this knife set definitely lives up to the Henckels name. With nine pieces included there is plenty here for the serious chef, so while this is slightly below our number one rated set, you may want to consider this set if you have had a bad experience with Wusthof.

Henkels produces another solid entry here with our number four rated set, again giving your more pieces at a lower price, the trade off being somewhat lower quality than the higher priced knife sets. You will get a lot of knives with this set, however if you have the funds we would recommend purchasing one of the higher priced knife sets.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Gourmet 15-Piece Block Set
Price: $149.95
The final recommended knife set among those that we tested is another Henckels, this knife set is another very high quality offering from the company. Knives are very sharp and will do a fine job, customer satisfaction tends to be very high, but the only reason to go with this set over the others in our list is to save some money, it is a level below our higher priced counterparts. This will however do a much better job for you than an average knife set, so if money is an issue than this set is a winner.
